DEAL BRIEF

MGM Networks Inc, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc is a global entertainment content company that develops, produces, and distributes theatrical motion pictures and television programs and, amongst its various channels, broadcasts the Hollywood films-driven 'MGM Channel' worldwide. MGM Networks Inc, through its subsidiary MGM Programming Service India Private Limited, obtained permission earlier this year from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for the broadcasting and distribution of the MGM Channel in India via the cable television, DTH and IPTV platforms. Recently, MGM Networks Inc inked a five-year distribution deal with Star Den Media Services to expand its horizon in making the Channel available to a larger segment of the audience in India.

We, at Nishith Desai Associates, acted as legal counsel to MGM Networks Inc, and advised them in expanding their presence in India in connection with the MGM Channel.
