It has been a month since the controversially passed new criminal laws have been in force. Faced with the mammoth mandate of replacing criminal laws which are more than a century old, it has not all been smooth sailing. In this one month, the laws have seen challenges both in constitutional courts and through protests, questions on transitional procedures have been raised, SOPs issued and a certain debate on the Hindi/Sanskritisation of the titles.
