There have been several efforts in the recent past to give institutional arbitration in India a boost. Institutional arbitration has several advantages over ad-hoc arbitration, such as providing procedural rules for conduct of the arbitration, assistance with the appointment of arbitrators, and general administrative assistance. In this piece, we analyze the recent legislative changes in India as well as the need for strengthening institutional arbitration in an increasingly virtual world. The full article is available here.
